Missouri City to take part in Warrant Roundup
Missouri City's Warrant Roundup began Feb. 11 and runs through March 4, with an aim to help offenders with outstanding warrants settle them without going to jail.
Individuals who fail to settle their fines may face additional charges, may not be able to renew their driver's licenses and can be pulled over by police in other jurisdictions through a statewide warrant tracking system.
Missouri City collected fines from 381 warrants in the 2011 roundup, totaling $86,749. This marked an increase of 100 warrants over the 2010 roundup, which netted $63,000 in fines.
Payments will be accepted in person, by phone and online. To participate, visit www.missouricitytx.gov, follow the “Online Services Center” link and scroll to "Court Payments" to pay online, or call 281-403-8669 to pay with a credit card.
The Missouri City Municipal court, 3845 Cartwright Road, will offer extended hours of service during the roundup and will allow 24-hour payment drop off in a drop box located to the left of the court's entrance.
