Spring, Stafford residents blame Lasko Products for deadly fire
An estate, consisting of residents from Spring and Stafford, is suing over claims a loved one died as the result of a defective fan manufactured by Lasko Products.
Mary Taylor, on behalf of the estate of the deceased Larry Taylor, Stafford resident Mary Sorrells, Matthew Taylor and Spring resident John Taylor filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in the Harris County District Court against Lasko Products, citing breach of implied warranty, product defect, negligence and gross negligence.
The estate says on June 22, the defective Lasko fan sparked the fire that killed Larry Taylor. According to a court brief, Taylor died at Memorial Hermann Hospital from smoke inhalation caused by the fire.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages and court costs. They are represented in the case by Tyler attorney Jeffrey Embry.
