Sugar Land to hold annual Christmas tree lighting
The City of Sugar Land will celebrate its ninth annual Christmas Tree Lighting event on Thursday, Dec. 1, at Sugar Land Town Square.
Mayor James Thompson and Santa Claus will light the City’s 40-foot Christmas tree to kick off the holiday season, along with a special surprise from the Sugar Land Skeeters. The event will also feature pictures with Santa, elf karaoke, holiday performances, craft stations and more.
The main stage will include performances by Sugar Land Super Star winner Erica Marks, Jr., Sugar Land Super Star winner Lexi Stavinoha, local school groups and organizations and several community choirs. Also, holiday stilt walkers and other walk-around characters will roam the square.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A free shuttle service will run from Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd., to Sugar Land Town Square from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parking will also be available in the Texas and Lone Star garages located in Town Square.
