Girls basketball: Micheaux brings enthusiasm to Elkins
Micheaux was hired in August to replace girls basketball coach Willie Yarber It's a golden opportunity for her and the Lady Knights, who now have the chance to learn from a recent Texas A&M player. The 24-year-old spent four seasons with the Aggies, from 2005 to 2009, graduating two years before their national championship run. The Texas A&M experience had a big impact on Micheaux, who has memorabilia and awards all over her room, peaking the interest of her players, and she plans to channel everything she learned. With the great coaching staff they have, especially after winning a national championship, I decided to implement everything that was taught to me. Johnson's still in volleyball but figures to be a key player, Howard stayed busy working on her strength and conditioning during the offseason, Micheaux said, and John will see an expanded role.
