Free backpacks, school supplies to be given away in Fort Bend
Heartbeat Ministries Inc. (HBM) will host a “Back-to-School Bash” at Bethel Praise & Worship Center on Friday, Aug. 19.
HBM will be giving away backpacks and supplies to families in need from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The goal is to give approximately 50 backpacks filled with school supplies for various age groups.
"The Heartbeat Ministries’ ‘Back-to-School Bash’ is a yearly event we created to help give back to the community at such an important time of the year,” said Pastor Lionel J. Keys in the press release. “Education for our children is extremely important and we're certain they'll be successful if they have the tools and support they need. This is an opportunity to support both the children and the parents; to help make their lives better."
In addition to the backpack and supplies giveaway, HBM is encouraging the surrounding communities to stop by for a night of games, prizes, music and more to help kick off the approaching school year.
Bethel Praise & Worship Center is located at 8001 McHard Road (FM 2234), Suite 13.
HBM is asking that everyone who is interested in receiving supplies for their student(s) to call Karla Lang at 832-428-2175, Dwight Keys at 281-788-1821 or email HBM at heartbeat.ministries74@yahoo.com to sign up to reserve the items in their name. Participants must be present at the Back-to-School Bash in order to receive the supplies.
