Sugar Land police ID drowning victim, seeking witnesses

Sugar Land police say there are no signs of foul play in the drowning death of Prince Guillermo Ramirez, 22, but they're still not sure how it happened.

A woman found Ramirez's body on Friday at about 6:15 p.m., in a lake near the Creekbend Condominiums in the Lake Pointe subdivision, says city spokesperson Doug Adolph. An autopsy showed that Ramirez drowned, but police are still waiting on toxicology results that will indicate whether or not he had alcohol in his system, Adolph says.

"We don't know how get got into the lake," Adolph says. "That's part of what we'd like to know. If there's anybody who can shed some light on the circumstances... that'd be very helpful to the investigation."

The follow-up investigation leads police to believe that "he did live somewhere in Houston, we just don't know where." Police have released a photo of Ramirez that Adolph says comes from his Facebook page, which also says that he is from Houston.

Police are asking anyone with information on Ramirez's death to call 281-275-2540.
