Sugar Land residents sue over health club membership
Sugar Land residents are suing after, they say, a Memorial-area health club refuses to reimburse them for unauthorized charges to their credit card account.
Sugar Land residents Todd and Lisa Richey filed a lawsuit on May 24 in Harris County District Court against Knead for Health, doing business as Massage Envy Galleria, alleging, among other things, violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act and fraud.
The Richeys say that on March 3, 2010, they canceled their membership to Massage Envy, located at 5387 Westheimer Road in Memorial. According to the brief, Massage Envy Galleria continued to charge the Richeys’ credit card account for the membership fees, even though the couple acted in accordance with their contract.
The Richeys are seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Stafford attorney Kendall Brock.
