Missouri City waste collection coming to Newpoint Estates after council decision
Missouri City will now handle solid-waste collection for homes in Newpoint Estates outside the city limits following a decision by the city council on Monday.
Section four of the subdivision falls within the city limits and is currently covered by the city's existing waste collection contract, but sections one, two and three are outside the city and were not covered until this decision. The change was made at the request of homeowners.
The council also authorized funding for a drainage project at the intersection of Texas Parkway and Cartwright Road. Three of the intersection's four corners will receive enclosed drainage. The work is an extension of the Texas Parkway sidewalks project. The project will be paid for by a $217,706 loan that will be repaid through revenue from Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 1.
City contracts for high-speed internet service, tires and ground maintenance were also approved at the meeting.
