HS Football Preview: Fort Bend Travis v. Clements
The Clements Rangers (2-3) host the Travis Tigers (2-3) in a District 23 clash of teams looking to even their season records Saturday.
The Rangers are coming off a 59-14 loss to the Elkins Tigers and will look to find a way to stop the rushing attack of Travis whose offensive line is anchored by tackle Carter Wall. Wall, 6’5 and 265 lbs., runs the 40 in 5.09 seconds and was recruited by Missouri, Virginia, Arizona State, and Mississippi State before committing to SMU.
The Rangers have struggled against the run all season and will look to hang with the Tigers, who suffered a 49-17 loss last week to the Hightower Hurricanes.
The return of starting quarterback Austin Decell this week should give some added confidence to the Rangers in their quest for the postseason.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Mercer Stadium.
