Grant will pay for new amenities in park
A $75,000 small community grant that Meadows Place has received from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be used for a $150,000 project to improve the city's Mark McGrath Municipal Park.
Fort Bend County is also contributing money to the effort and working with the city to develop the new amenities, Meadows Place Mayor Charles Jessup said. They will include fishing piers, covered cabanas, decorative lighting as well as additional walking trails and barbecue pits, he said.
The city was notified that it received the grant earlier this month, Jessup said. This is the fourth grant that the city has been awarded by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, he said.
We're very proud of that," Jessup said. We've worked very hard for it."
