Fall weather in time for county fair!
Can you believe that we have been graced with cooler temps just in time for the opening of the Fort Bend County Fair? The rain may not be as fun but fall is definitely upon us!
Today is opening day for the fair and you're likely to find some great food, entertainment and activities at the annual event.
Headliners include Stoney LaRue, Jack Ingram, Aaron Watson and David Allan Coe. You can check out the complete schedule here.
The livestock schedule is packed with fun fair events including animal judging, auctions and barrel racing. Little kids will have fun with stick racing and playing in the YMCA Fun Zone.
There will be a comedy show, art exhibit, rides, good food and the coronation of the fair queen. To find the fair look for the bright lights and loud noise along Texas 36 just south of U.S. 59 in Rosenberg.
Tickets to the fair are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-11 and free for military personnel in uniform. The fun thing about opening day is that anyone under 18 is free until 7 p.m., so get there quickly after school!
Proceeds from the fair support scholarships for students entering Texas universities.
Have a fun weekend!
