published Sep. 17, 2012
The Fort Bend Independent School District joined schools across the nation in observing National Arts in Education Week Sept. 9-15.
The observance promotes the role that arts education has in producing engaged, successful and college- and career-ready students, according to a district press release.
To celebrate the week, FBISD fine arts teachers created a wall display of student-produced artwork in the atrium of the FBISD Administration Building, located at 16431 Lexington Blvd. in Sugar Land.
FBISD students have received numerous national and state awards honoring their skills and achievements throughout the years, according to the release.
