GattiTown joins Camp Periwinkle fundraising effort
published Aug. 28, 2012
GattiTown in Sugar Land, cooperating with 16 other Gatti's Pizza and GattiTown stores, raised a combined $63,000 to help send youth cancer patients to summer camp earlier this month.
Sixty-three children with cancer and blood disorders spent a week at The Periwinkle Foundation's annual summer camp, according to a press release. The foundation hosted the camp July 29 through Aug. 4 near Brenham, Tex.
Beginning in April, the stores offered customers $1 off coupons in exchange for a $1 donation to the camp fundraiser. GattiTown in Sugar Land contributed more than $3,000, making it one of the top contributing locations, according to the release.
The Periwinkle Foundation provides programs, support groups and financial assistance to children with cancer cared for at Texas Children's Hospital, according to its website. The Gatti's and GattiTown stores have supported Camp Periwinkle for the past five years, raising more than $150,000, according to the release.
GattiTown in Sugar Land is located at 3412 State Highway 6 S.
