Thousands enjoy Missouri City Fourth of July celebration
published Jul. 10, 2012
Thousands attended Missouri City’s Fourth of July celebration, which included fireworks, pony rides, mechanical bulls, a live DJ and food booths.
Before the fireworks display, Congressman Al Green, State Rep. Ron Reynolds and Mayor Allen Owen each spoke briefly to the crowd, paying tribute to veterans and city staff who worked behind the scenes.
An estimated 3,000 people viewed the fireworks show, with traffic bumper-to-bumper along Buffalo Run Boulevard and Texas Parkway. The Parks and Recreation Department gave out more than 600 cowboy hats to children age 12 and younger.
