Telfair Residents can have a voice in upcoming election

So Bridget Yeung has announced plans to run for Sugar Land City Council. As Chair of Sugar Land Planning and Zoning, she has gone along with the developers of Telfair while they mislead residents (and REALTORS) about the new schools to be built in the community. The telfair developer presented the plan, made it public and the city approved it without ever having any commitment from the school district. Now residents are upset and Planning and Zoning and the city have liitle to say, except to continue approval of Telfair development plans. Ms. Yeung's district includes Telfair and this is the chance for those residents to make a statement. I would love to see a Telfair resident run for this position. They would have my vote!

RE: Telfair Residents can have a voice in upcoming election

Nothing new here. The big Houston developers have run our county for the last 2 decades through the GFBEDC. They basically pick our candidates and then tell us who to vote for. You need to run your own candidates in the SL district seats. If you ck the campaign finance reports of most of the current council members including the mayor you will see the EDC monies all over them. That is why they rubber stamp the development company agreements which also include many high density apartments in the Telfair plan which the developers put in last after they have sold all the high end homes. It's a masterplan to keep us moving and a template for disaster for any community. You will find most of our county commissioners taking the same "gifts" and looking the other way too. Nothing new in FBC! Find and run your own candidates.
