The Los Angeles Dodgers made him their first-round pick (19th overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft. Loney played in 431 minor league games during his first four professional seasons before making his Major League debut with LA on April 4, 2006. Loney appeared in 96 games for the Dodgers with a .331 batting average, 15 home runs and 67 RBIs to finish sixth in National League rookie of the year voting. Loney hit at least 10 runs and drive in at least 88 runs each of the next three seasons (2008 to 2010) in LA. Loney was born May 7, 1984 in Houston.
