Pro Baseball: Tyler Christian Lockwood, Greenville Drive
Tyler Christian Lockwood pitched two innings, striking out three and allowing no earned runs Saturday in the Greenville Drive's 3-2 loss to the Lexington Legends. Lockwood graduated from Fort Bend Kempner High School.
A 2006 graduate of Kempner High School Lockwood was a college pitcher for four seasons (2007 to 2010) for Texas Christian University. He made 88 outings including 23 stars over four years for the Horned Frogs posting a career record of 22-8 with eight saves and a 3.34 ERA. Lockwood was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 25th round (773rd overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. He went 1-0 with a 4.00 ERA and four saves in 16 relief appearances in 2010 for Lowell of the short-season class-A New York-Penn League. Lockwood was born Dec. 9 1987 in Sugar Land.
