    Timothy Morales says he kneed his stepdaughter in the stomach when she followed him too closely as he was walking. She died two days later. He's now on trial in a Fort Bend County courtroom on a charge of injury to a child by omission.

    Needville ISD officials decided Wednesday that the facility is ready for when school kicks off at 7:50 a.m. If it had not, the school year would have started in the old high school building.
