    Getting around Fort Bend and outlying areas

    Fort Bend County residents are invited to take a closer look at area mobility at an Aug. 27 conference.

    The "Innovative Infrastructure" event will also cover other regional topics. It will be held at the Safari Texas Ranch, 11627 FM 1464 near Sugar Land.

    The conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. and will feature guest speakers Stephen Klineberg with Rice University, Texas Transportation Commissioner Ned Holmes, Gulf Coast Freight Rail District Chairman Mark Ellis, Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert, Bill Jameson with the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority, Joe B. Allen with Allen Boone Humphries Robinson, Scott Elmer with the city of Missouri City and Karen Daly with the city of Sugar Land.

    The conference is being organized by the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Planning Division.
