New stores coming soon; Designer’s Perfumes expanding
With more than a million square feet of shopping including three major department stores, an outdoor streetscape with national retailers and restaurants plus more than 150 fashion and specialty retailers, First Colony Mall is a one-stop regional shopping center. To keep the shopping environment at its best, Donna Molho, general manager for the shopping center, has announced that in the coming months, the mall will welcome several new retailers and Designer’s Perfume, one of the original retailers at First Colony Mall is doubling its space.
Designer’s Perfume, one of the first retailers at First Colony Mall when the center opened in 1996, is completing the renovation of its original store and doubling in size to approximately 2,600 square feet. Shehzad Sadaruddin, president, says the store is planning a Grand Opening in the spring.
‘Most of the renovation of Designer’s Perfume is finished,’ says Mr. Sadaruddin, a Sugar Land resident who lives just four blocks from the shopping center, ‘and we are just putting the finishing touches on our new store. We have 60 to 70 different lines here at Designer’s Perfume – that’s about 2,500 different scents, so everyone can understand that we needed more space. Our customers are very loyal and enjoy buying the newest scents from all over the world at discounts of 10 to 40 percent.’
Described as the retailing company’s flagship, the First Colony Mall Designer’s Perfume is located near Macy’s. Mr. Sadaruddin also maintains inventory at La Perfumania, a kiosk near Dillard’s. Designer’s Perfume has remained open during the renovation.
Newcomers to First Colony Mall include:
• Just open near The Gap, Best Buy Mobile offers a better way to shop for a mobile phone. The retailer features a wide selection of the top brands and latest models and handles all the major networks. Shoppers are served by noncommissioned mobile phone specialists and can choose from an array of service plans, phone repair options and more.
• Vitamin World, America’s first choice for nutritional supplements such as vitamins, minerals and herbal products, will pump up the shopping center’s health component when it opens in late April. The retailer, with shelves of products for men and women, is under construction in its new location near Dillard’s Men.
