RobertsRobertsIncumbent Fulshear Mayor James "Jamie" Roberts is not running for re-election in the May 8 city election.

Two people have stepped up to the plate to run for the position. They are Carl Utley, 71, business owner, and Thomas "Tommy" Kuykendall Jr., 43, civil engineer.

Six people are running for three at-large aldermen positions on the Fulshear City Council, including two incumbents, said City Secretary Dee Gordon Offord. Alderman Dennis Clack is not running for re-election.

Incumbents seeking another two-year term are Derek Einkauf, 38, a consultant; and Laverne Patterson, 46, a bookkeeper. They are opposed by Robert Becker Jr., deputy sheriff, 44; Larry Beustring, 71, retired; Mark Wilson, 41, project manager; and Jeff Roberts, 37, business owner, who also is Jamie Roberts' son.

Offord said the three top vote-getters will be the winners. The filing deadline for the May election was March 8.
