In case you haven't heard yet, the city of Sugar Land is making a big push to get a minor league baseball stadium built with a team to play in it by the start of the 2012 season.
Even though it was early, we asked www.UltimateFortBend.com readers to come up with suggestions for team names.
The one name that kept coming up over and over was the Imperials.
Obviously, the name would pay homage to the Imperial Sugar plant, which for years was the heart and soul of the city.
The next most favorite name to come up was the Express. That would be in reference to the 1974 movie The Sugarland Express, which was filmed around Fort Bend County in 1973.
Other names included the Sugar Daddies (might as well toss that one out now), the Sugar Packets and the Saints.
So, are there any other names you think would be good that have not been suggested yet?

I guess we'll all have to see what will be the best team name that will represent Sugar Land the absolute best for years to come..
