In one city, no candidates have filed so far

In Meadows Place, three aldermen positions and the mayor's seat will be up for election in May.

The first day people could start filing the proper paperwork with the city to get their names on the ballot was Feb. 8.

But as of 1 p.m. today, nobody had filed, said city secretary Elaine Herff. That includes all four incumbents: Mayor Charles Jessup, Position 1 Alderwoman Heidi S. Case, Position 2 Alderman Charles Kulhanek and Position 3 Alderman David Wilkens.

Residents still have until March 8 to do so.

Trust Shirley Isbell – Candidate for Alderman Position 2 – Meadows Place, TX

    1. Why run? I have loved Meadows Place for 24 years, because of its location, amenities, exemplary elementary school, green space, security, and people. I want to give something back by participating in the decision making that will raise property values and attract caring and ethical residents and business partners.

    2. Why should I win? I have the wisdom, contacts, knowledge, and education to best represent Meadows Place internally and externally. I have inexpensive solutions and ideas to help build property values. Some of my ideas have already been implemented and proven successful (more than doubled parking between pool and school by simply placing rocks in the easements and our mailbox beautification project). If I am elected, I will market Meadows Place to individuals and businesses to increase our tax base long term. I have over 30 years of business experience and graduated with highest honors with a BS in Business Administration and a MS in Business Leadership and Ethnology.

    3. My first attainable goal? Even though Meadows Place is the gateway to Fort Bend County, it is virtually unknown in the Houston area. Relocating companies should be aware that Meadows Place is one of the few remaining autonomous cities with its own infrastructure. I know how to market the awesome opportunities Meadows Place offers to families and businesses. Residents can trust me to make decisions that will be most beneficial for our future economical growth.

If you like my ideas, vote for me.

    unhappy with the results

    Ms Isbell,
I have heard several Meadows residents, one's I know and many I don't know state that the manner in which you conducted yourself during this campaign was of much concern. I personally found 'put downs' you voiced publically about Mr Holland to show exactly what you are, very pushy and quite full of yourself. Mr Holland on the other hand presented himself as an approachable, down to earth, genuine man. I'm very unhappy with the results of the election.

    Close Race

THANK YOU Big John Isbell, my husband and my cheap treasurer. You helped me prove that our good name and a clean/green campaign is worthy of votes. Keep reminding me to be frugal with Meadows Place taxpayers’ dollars. Thank you neighbors for voting and caring about the future of OUR city! Thank you Aggies, CDA sisters, and Vivian and John Whiteman for surprising me with encouragement, support, Audrey’s Army, callers, walkers, and participation on Election Day. Thank you Scott Holland for running an ethical and caring election campaign. I look forward to working with you all. I love Meadows Place because of its location, amenities, exemplary elementary school, green space, security, and PEOPLE! Meadows Place is the best small-town neighborhood in the USA and we can all participate in the decision making that will raise property values and attract caring and ethical residents and business partners. Shirley Isbell, Alderman 2, Meadows Place, Texas.
