Town Square prepares for Valentine's Day

Need some fun, free things to do to celebrate Valentine's Day? Or at least celebrate love a few days before the actual holiday.

Sugar Land Town Square has a couple events lined up for lovebirds and kids, too. Find the one that fits your schedule and enjoy the free fun:

A Valentine's Day celebration with Radio Disney is planned for Feb. 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Town Square. In celebration of the new Walt Disney Pictures movie Alice in Wonderland, the Radio Disney AM 1590 Road Crew will be on site to celebrate the day of love.

Kids can check out the Mad Hatter Valentine Hat Decorating (for the first 200 kids ages 16 and under), Tweedledee and Tweedledum trivia, Queen of Hearts Croquet and more.

You can also register to win movie-themed prizes and a chance for the grand prize - a private screening of Alice in Wonderland in the winner's hometown.

Sway to some familiar tunes Feb. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Town Square's Concert in the Plaza featuring Adam & Lena.

Their sound is a mixture of Americana, folk and mellow rock with a broad range of musical influences by the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Nora Jones, Simon and Garfunkel and U2. You can check out a sneak peek of their ballads at their MySpace page.

What do you plan to do for Valentine's Day this year? Any budget-friendly ideas?

When February 14th rolls around, everyone just seems to feel a little more romantic. A lot of people are going out on dates for Valentine's Day, and one of the most popular dates is dinner and the movies. So what are some good Valentine's Day movies? Well, it depends on what you like – if sci-fi and 3 hours long don't bother you – you have Avatar. If you want a horror flick, there's The Wolfman or The Lovely Bones if you like a murder mystery. For Harry Potter types, there's Percy Jackson and The Olympians. (Pierce Brosnan must have needed payday loans or something.) The only romance movie that jumps out is Dear John, except the girl ditches him in the first half hour.
