Never donated blood? Why not start now

Looking to do some good in the new year? Blood donations are needed at an upcoming drive.

Sugar Land First United Methodist Church is hosting its first blood drive of the year Jan. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church's Wesley Hall. The church hosts blood drives quarterly.

If you have given blood at Sugar Land Methodist within the past three years, you will receive a call from the Blood Center as a reminder to help out again.

Donations are greatly needed to meet the current needs of patients all over the city as well as the Houston area. Each donation helps three lives.

Can't make it to this blood drive but want to give? Check out the Sugar Land Neighborhood Donor Center at 4949 Sweetwater Blvd. The center is open Monday - Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information about the donor center, call 281-313-1122.
